BlackBerry Storm review
Phonescoop has made a nice long review on the BlackBerry Storm. Of course you won’t see any new things Storm lovers didn’t already know but it’s nice to see them elaborate on the multimedia features of the Storm. We can see the musicplayer looks and works nicely, the picture gallery is a bit too slow (will probably get fixed in the first software update), the autofocus of the camera works great and the BlackBerry Application Center is not online yet (probably second week of december). Our main concern at this moment is that at times the OS is responding too d*mn slow. We can imagine this will become annoying after some time. Hopefully RIM will fix this matter soon.
HTC Touch HD vs. Sony Ericsson X1
The battle of this week is between the HTC Touch HD and the Sony Ericsson X1. Both devices are running on Windows Mobile and have a really large touchscreen. In fact the HTC Touch HD has one of the largest screens available today. One of the advantages of the HD is that the screen is completely flat. The screen of the X1 has a small edge around it which makes it a bit hard to touch the screen near the corners. Another advantage of the HD is that it’s quite thin. The X1 has to hide a full QWERTY keyboard inside and that’s why it’s a bit… fat. Because of that it feels more robust and of higher quality than the HD. The HTC Touch Pro and Touch Diamond appear in the second part of the movie clip. The Pro has a full QWERTY keyboard which actually makes it a better contestant against the X1 than the HD.
iPhone with Flash
One of the things Apple ‘forgot’ to build in when they made the iPhone was Flash. Why is still unknown. Anyway. No more waiting because finally a third party has made a Flash plugin for the Safari browser. For the time being the plugin made by ImobileCinema is only available for firmware 1.1.1 to 1.1.5 but hopefully it will work soon for all versions.
HTC Touch HD for sale
The new HTC Touch HD is available as of now. Unique selling point: the amazing 3.8 inch touchscreen. Biggest let down: Windows Mobile. Below you will find the most important specs. Got a minute? The HTC Touch HD is a quadband HSDPA phone running on Windows Mobile 6.1 with the TouchFLO 3D user interface, 3.8 inch WGVA touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google Maps, 5 megapixel camera without flash(!) and autofocus(!), 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP en EDR, microSD slot. The dimensions are 115 x 62.8 x 12 mm and it weighs 146 grams.
Nokia E63 official
It’s official: the Nokia E63. It’s the cheaper version of the Nokia E71 and will become available in two hip colors: red and blue. Of course we already knew the E63 was coming but we didn’t know when, didn’t know the specs and didn’t know the price. The price will be around 250 EUR( 350 USD, 175 GPB) which is quite competitve for such a complete device. The specs aren’t official yet though. The main differences with the E71 will probably be that the E63 doesn’t have HSDPA, GPS and maybe not a camera. Some sources say there WILL be a 2 megapixel camera though. The specs of which we are certain: quadband UMTS phone with 2.36 inch QVGA display, qwerty keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD slot, microUSB and FM radio with RDS.
Samsung Innov8 review
What can we tell you about Samsung Mobile? Always a lot of new phone models. Always the latest techniques. Always quite affordable. But Samsung doesn’t belong to the top in mobile phone land/world. How come? Is it the ‘middle of the road’ design? Take this Samsung Innov8. It has so many specs where not even going to mention them. But it looks like a ‘normal’ Samsung phone. Which is quite a shame because the Innov8 deserves more. Watch the review below.
