Samsung Innov8 review

Josh Woodbuy | Samsung | 05-11-2008 13:19

What can we tell you about Samsung Mobile? Always a lot of new phone models. Always the latest techniques. Always quite affordable. But Samsung doesn’t belong to the top in mobile phone land/world. How come? Is it the ‘middle of the road’ design? Take this Samsung Innov8. It has so many specs where not even going to mention them. But it looks like a ‘normal’ Samsung phone. Which is quite a shame because the Innov8 deserves more. Watch the review below.

Two sims in one touchscreen: Samsung D980 TouchWiz

Josh Woodbuy | Samsung | 15-10-2008 9:35

Samsung D980 TouchWiz

So you have only one mobile? That’s so 2007…! You need at least two mobiles. One for business and one for pleasure for instance. Samsung doesn’t think so and has been working on dual sim phones like the Samsung P240 and D880. But these two phones weren;t very sexy. But wait! Now there’s the Koreans have come up with the D980 TouchWiz. It’s a F480 TouchWiz with two sims but without 3G. Some things had to go to make room for the second sim. The specs: 2.6 inch QVGA touchscreen with so-called TouchWiz interface, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, MicroSD slot, FM Radio. The Samsung D980 weighs 117 grams and its dimensions are 97.5 x 55 x 16 mm. Availability and pricing are unknown at this moment.

iPhone and Omnia jokes

Josh Woodbuy | Apple, Samsung | 24-09-2008 16:20

Drinking beer can be done with the iPhone, gambling with the Samsung Omnia. Let’s wait and see what kind of distractions the Nokia N96 and Blackberry Bold will bring ;-)

Samsung Armani v2

Josh Woodbuy | Samsung | 23-09-2008 15:22

The first Armani Phone (P520) was a nice looking phone but not very user friendly. Samsung and Armani have not given up their relationship and are trying it again with this quadband UMTS/HSDPA phone with 2.2 inch OLED display, 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD slot and FM radio. The phone looks a bit dull (especially for Armani!). But wait until you use it in the dark. I have a feeling this phone will be quite popular among 12-18 year old boys and girls…

New in box: Samsung Omnia

Josh Woodbuy | Samsung | 04-09-2008 17:31

This is the Samsung Omnia in and out of its box. It’s slick and fully packed little mobile ready to take on the iPhone. The specs are nice: 3,2 inch touchscreen with 240 x 400 pixels, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, HSDPA, GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0, 8 or 16 GB memory and a MicroSDHC slot. The Samsung Omnia has one huge disadvantage though: Windows Mobile. Let’s hope we all get the same Samsung Omnia box as the one below! ;-)

Samsung F400 Mobile Review

Josh Woodbuy | Samsung | 27-06-2008 10:12

Samsung F400

The Russian website Mobile-Review.com has made another nice and extensive review. This time they have tested the Samsung F400 which you can read here. We’ll give you the specs: The Samsung F400 is a dual slider just like the i450 and is aimed at music and video lovers. Sliding the phone down will reveal the keypad, sliding it up will uncover the nice Bang & Olufsen speakers. The F400 has a nice music player with music library and FM radio with RDS. The F400 supports multiple audio and video formats. It has a 3 megapixel camera and with 16,9 mm is quite thick.

Samsung Instinct vs. LG Vu vs. Apple iPhone

Josh Woodbuy | Apple, LG, Samsung | 25-06-2008 22:20

The barking dogs at phonedog.com have made a very nice and extensive video review of the iPhone, the Samsung Instinct and the LG Vu. My choice would be the iPhone even though it’s one of the first generation. The phonedogs agree with me. Or the other way around of course.

Sonim XP1 vs. Samsung M110

Josh Woodbuy | Other brands, Samsung | 21-06-2008 10:14

Our Dutch PortableGear colleagues have made a funny movie of two tough phones that should be able to withstand sand, water, kicking and more: the Sonim XP1 and the Samsung M110. PortableGear has tested both rivals specifically on the ‘dangers’ listed above. One to watch.
